project 1: Villa Champaquí

The FUNDACIÓN VILLA CHAMPAQUÍ named by the highest mountain in the region, is placed in the idyllic landscape of Belgrano. The area of the Cordoba is famous for their numerous of lakes and their pleasant climate.
The owner of this residential home for the elderly was searching for a wastewater treatment system, which generate a high efficiency and very low maintenance costs. The constructed wetland system is the real system for his high demand.

Constructed wetland under construction (2004): The ground level of the filter bed is filled in by an excavator.

The surface of the reed bed amount 300 m². For the whole treatment electrician energy is not necessary. In the front you see the septic tank and the hydroflush system.

The plants (phragmites australis) become established. The analysis of both parameter COD and BOD shows the high quality of the effluent. All terms are below the benchmarks. Because there is no electrician energy necessary the low maintenance is managed by the gardener.

project 2: Youth hostel El Rincon - wastewater treatment and reuse

The constructed wetland of the youth hostel “El Ricon” in the surrounding of Cordoba was built in 2006. The vertical flow reed bed purifies 6 m³/day.

Benefits:
low investment costs
no electrician energy
no maintenance

The effluent looks clear and it smells less. It is collected in a clean tank and is reused for irrigation the large greens.

project 3: Landfill Olavarria

The owner of the landfill Olavarria, Gamsur S.E.M., asked the J&S Consulting to design a constructed wetland for purifying the leachate of the landfill.

The investigation started with a small sized plant, built in autumn 2006. Different loadings were checked. In this time the program is running. The results will be used for an upscaling to design the whole constructed wetland plant.
